Kid's Pajama Party Ideas

Need some pajama party ideas? Well, a pajama party can be fun, whether it is well organized or a spur of the moment type of evening. A kids pajama party should be personalized to their style or preference, for an optimal fun experience. A sleep over in cute pajamas, in itself, is usually a good time. But, if you are looking for a well planned night of activities, without the cost, here are some great pajama party ideas:

FOR BOYS

1.Obstacle Course. Boys love this competitive game.

Object: Participants must get past various obstacles as quickly as possible to win.

Preparation: Utilize items found in the home to create the course. You’d be amazed at what can be used - just let your imagination do the work. We used magnetic darts, a remote control car, a tic-tac-toe bean bag toss game, a putter, a golf ball, a jump rope, and a hula hoop.

Rules: One at a time each boy maneuvers through the course while being timed. This game is such a hit, you can extend the fun and make it the best out of Three.

2.Toy Swap

Activity: Ask each child to bring a toy they no longer play with and have a toy swap. Remember - another boys trash is another boys treasure.

Dinner: Make Their Own Pizzas

Preparation: This only requires some english muffins and dishes of fixin's like sauce, cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers and onions. They are easy enough to toss in a toaster oven and the kids love to create their own.

3.Camping Outdoors. Seasonally an option.

Preparation: Prior to the boys arriving, set-up the tent(s) and stock the fire pit with wood. Camping in the backyard is the next best thing to actually camping. This thrills them and at the same time relieves mom from the all-night chatter.

Actvities: Badminton, baseball, croquet

Dinner: Grill hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken or kabobs. Save the dessert for later.

Evening Activities: At sunset, light the fire and roast marshmallows and make s'mores (a sandwich made with roasted marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers) or pop some popcorn (always a family favorite). Sit around the fire and tell stories.

FOR GIRLS

1.Spa Night. No matter their age, all females love to be pampered! This will be an evening they won't forget. A facial home spa session will really thrill them.

Preperation: Give gift bags filled with mini nail polishes, nail files and toe seperators. This covers the party favor dilemma and they are useful for the party theme. Gather exfoliates, mud masks, moisturizers, etc. Create the atmosphere with music and candles.

Activities: Organize the girls in pairs, to give each other pedicures. This keeps them all busy and excited about being the beautician, while you prepare the facial station.

3.Make Your Own Sundae This is always a hit at a kids pajama party, as well.

Preperation: On a table, in individual dishes, lay out some delicious toppings like sprinkles, nuts, cherries, bananas, coconut flakes, M&M's and of course the chocolate sauce. This will keep them busy, for a bit, and is not much of a hassle.

MORE KIDS PAJAMA PARTY IDEAS FOR BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS

1. A great way to keep the kids busy, quiet and educated is by creating and printing your own crossword puzzles online. There are many websites like www.abcteach.com that offer free puzzles. This game can be played competitively for a prize, by whoever is correctly finished, first. It can also be played as a group collectively by helping each other out, for the fun of it. This also encourages teamwork.

2. The other fun kids pajama party idea is to rent a new released movie that, hopefully, most have not yet seen. Organize the kids into an area, pop the popcorn, make the hot cocoa and let them settle in.
